CHOCOLATE PISTACHIO HUGS Cookies

Updated: Jul 20

Part 1 of Easy Holiday Baking

Chocolate Pistachio Hugs

Are you ready to make some easy cookies for the holidays? I sure am ready! I decided this was the year I cut back and spent more time enjoying family and friends and not all the time in out kitchen.

These cookies are made from a Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie mix and just a few other ingredients. I spent about 5 minutes mixing everything up and while the cookies baked I finished watching an episode of the Great British Baking Show. My kind of baking.

Chocolate Pistachio Hugs ingredients

Ingredients:

*Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix

*Butter

*Egg

*Pistachio Instant Pudding-Although if coconut or butterscotch is your thing then substitute that flavor.

*Cocoa Powder

*Powdered Sugar

*Hugs or your favorite Hershey Kiss

Let's get this Chocolate Pistachio Hug going so you can finish watching the Great British Baking show with me.

Melt the butter in the microwave. The reason this is the first step is because we need it to cool down so we don't have scrambled eggs in our cookies.

As the butter is cooling you can go ahead and put the cookie mix, cocoa powder and instant pudding in to the mixing bowl add the egg and combine.

Once the egg is added and you mix your dough it will look just like this. By this time the butter should have cooled down so go ahead and add it in to the mixture.

Things are starting to come together! Once the butter is added to the mixture in the bowl go ahead and mix until a dough comes together. It should look something like this, the little specks in the mixture are from the pudding you added to the dough.

No eating the dough! Start rolling the dough in balls and then roll into the powdered sugar. I put 12 cookies on the cookie sheet but I think you could probably fit 16 as

they don't spread much when they bake.

Set the oven at

350°degrees and once it is preheated you are set to go. Bake the Chocolate Pistachio Hugs for 10 minutes.

Once you have baked the cookies remove from the oven to a cooling rack. Place a Hershey's Hug in the middle of each cookie.

So easy and so good. Baking shouldn't be so consuming during the holidays. Making these short cut cookies will give you time to enjoy your family and friends or the Great British Baking Show.
