At our house we are always looking for ideas for breakfast at our house. I'm guess you are too! Look no further! Missy's granola is the perfect way to start your day.
This recipe is adaptable to your tastes and preference in what you like. You can see the ingredients below.

Oatmeal-I used old fashioned oats but any type of oatmeal will work.
Oil- I had some leftover grapeseed oil so I used that but you could use olive oil, sunflower oil or really whatever you have in your pantry.
Honey- use honey or maple syrup
Nuts- I used almonds but try pecans or walnuts if you please.
Spices-cinnamon and cardamom but you could also try using allspice, ginger or cloves.
Dried fruit-blueberrries but give raisins, craisins, dried cherries a try.
The first step is to mix the oil, syrup and spiced together in a medium sized bowl.

Once the oil, honey and spices are mixed together simply add your oatmeal and almonds to the bowl and mix together.
The next step is to line your baking sheet with parchment paper. I ordered a packet of jelly roll size pieces of parchment paper from Amazon. Best purchase ever! Dump the mixture onto the pan and spread it evenly so it doesn't clump during bake time.

Your oven should be pre-heated to 300°. Put the pan in the oven for 20 minutes. Making sure to stir half way through the bake time to prevent clumps sticking together.

When you remove the granola from the oven let it cool and then add your dried fruit.

Mix together and ....there you have it! Homemade granola!
