Marble Brownies

Updated: Jul 25

Marble Brownies

Every Tuesday I bring treats to share with the residents at work. Which means every Monday night I bake. This week I wanted to share something that I hadn't yet made so Marble Brownies it is... I am a person of habit. I only use Duncan Hines Milk Chocolate Brownie Mix. That is the mix I used for this recipe.

The ingredients are fairly simple; the brownie mix, oil, eggs, water, cream cheese, butter, sugar, flour and vanilla. These are staples I keep in my pantry or fridge most the time. Okay, all the time.

ingredients for Marble Brownies

Start by dumping the brownie mix into a large bowl or your mixer. Add the eggs, oil, vanilla and water. Stir to combine. Or mix until just combined in the stand mixer.

Next, spray your baking pan with non stick cooking spray. Spread your brownie batter in the pan evenly. So far pretty easy, right?

Brownie Batter

Did someone say cream cheese? Time to start the cream cheese mixture. Combine the cream cheese and butter together in a bowl or stand mixer. As you can see I choose my stand mixer for this part of the recipe. Mix until smooth.

cream cheese and sugar

Add in the sugar and mix. Time to add the egg and vanilla. And, mix again. Finally add in the flour and mix until just blended. This is your cream cheese mixture.

The fun begins. Take a large spoon or small measuring cup and dollop scoops of the cream cheese mixture onto your brownie mix that has been sitting in the pan. Then take a knife and start swirling. Mine looks like a piece of art or at the very least it just looks pretty cool.

Now bake for 23 minutes in an oven that has been pre heated to 350°. I have the baking of brownies down to an art in my oven. But we know all ovens have a mind of their own. So 23 minutes or until a fork or knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let the brownies cool and then you can frost them.

Enjoy!

  • Add chocolate chips to the top of the pan before you bake. I have done this before and it is delish.
